Disability & Homelessness in Central and Northern Scotland Project

Little is known about how homeless people with chronic impairment in Central and Northern Scotland access Health and Social Care services. This research project focused on the intersection of health, service access, disability and homelessness.

The research aimed to answer the following questions:

·       What barriers and challenges do homeless people with impairments, chronic illnesses or health issues face in interfacing with health and social care services?

·       How can access to health care and social service delivery be improved to homeless disabled people?

·       How do homeless disabled people negotiate the challenges of living in temporary accommodation?
