Access to Health & Social Service :

Disabled people often experience difficulties in accessing Health and social care services. Policy makers are concerned to improve equality of service provision and within the countries of the UK have developed National Service Frameworks. This work, funded by the UK Department of Health, started in the late 1990s is continuing to expand rapidly as more research areas are revealed.

The research in this programme seeks answers to questions such as:

·       How do disabled people experience health and social care provision?

·       How do people with multiple caring roles manage in the community?

·       How do carers of people with long term neurological conditions experience the provision of replacement care?

Projects:

·       National Service Framework for long term conditions projects

·       Support for Carers with multiple caring roles project

·       How do carers of people with long term neurological conditions experience the provision of replacement care project
