Dharma is studying for a PhD in the field of School Leadership focusing on the headteacher's role in addressing diversity and social inclusion. The study has explored leadership and practice of social inclusion in schools serving high poverty and disadvantaged communities and has developed a holistic model of practice. His research skills have been enhanced through participation in a variety of projects where the methods range from mixed-method enquiries to interdisciplinary studies.
